ShareBrowser
======================================

The ShareBrowser media management system is available as a component requiring initialization. If ShareBrowser use is intended and its menu is not presented when clicking ShareBrowser, see the :ref:`Initialization <Initialization>` section to start the ShareBrowser service.

ShareBrowser is not required for standard EVO operation, though it does provide for many additional features and added functionality. ShareBrowser requires Slingshot for automations, and both plugins are activated when ShareBrowser is enabled.

**Server version** - Displays the version of the ShareBrowser server component running on EVO.

**Server** - Enabled by default when components are :ref:`initialized <Initialization>`.

**Avahi advertisement** - Disabled by default.

**Advanced permissions sync (ACL)** - Disabled by default.

Click the pencil to edit the displayed settings:

**ShareBrowser Server** - Enabled by default when components are :ref:`initialized <Initialization>`. In a multi-EVO environment, one EVO may be selected to host the primary ShareBrowser Server. Disabling the server component on other EVOs in the environment is a simple way to ensure users always log in to the selected ShareBrowser server.

**Avahi advertisement** - Disabled by default. Enable to advertise the ShareBrowser Server via mDNS. Note this setting is independent of EVO Avahi network advertising at the :ref:`Network <Network>` page.

**Advanced permissions sync (ACL)** - Disabled by default. When enabled, the content presented to ShareBrowser clients will be updated to match their file permissions when the share is indexed.

When ACL permissions are enabled, a new card is added to the page, which shows the currently applied ACL permissions sync settings.

Click the pencil to enable or disable ACL sync for the share(s).

**Configure indexer and preview settings** - Links to the Slingshot > :ref:`Index/Proxy <Index/Proxy>` tab where indexer behavior and proxy generation are configured.

**Configure AI/ML services** - Links to the Slingshot > :ref:`Settings <Settings>` tab, where Autotagging is configured.

**Import/export database** - Links to the Support > :ref:`OS Data <OS Data>` tab, where databases can be imported/exported.
